1 st Lt Kent D. Fletcher, MBA, MSP, Combat Disabled Veteran

Kent Fletcher is a native Iowan, raised in Huntington, WV. Mr. Fletcher attended University of Kentucky, where he enlisted in the Selected Marine Forces Reserve reaching the rank of Corporal, after being named his recruit training platoon’s honor graduate. Kent was commissioned as an officer upon completing his BA during year 2000, after having been awarded the Officer Candidate Leadership Award during his junior collegiate year and Most Outstanding Officer Candidate during his respective senior collegiate year.

Kent has been assigned to lead a light infantry and reconnaissance platoon with Marine Forces Unitas for an 18-month deployment to South America and West Africa, before being reassigned to deploy with Task Force Tarawa, U.S. Marines, during the initial 2003 invasion as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom; where he commanded a light infantry and reconnaissance platoon, before overseeing enemy prisoners of war for the Task Force and other units. Fletcher participated in NATO Exercises Battle Griffin and Strong Resolve enlisted and officer, respectively. Fletcher left the Marine Corps with a Honorable Discharge, and numerous achievements.

Kent deployed again during 2006 as a government contracted civilian, under the umbrella of the U.S. Army, and helped guide transportation operations through Iraq; eventually assuming leadership of the tracking team for 12-hour work days, seven (7) days a week.

Kent settled in the Bluffton/Hilton Head/Savannah area on return from Iraq, following his parents Mr. And Mrs. Michael Stephen Fletcher, II (nee Cheryl Hacker), and his two siblings Erica and Chris respectively, and their families. Mr. Fletcher competed his MBA from Boston University’s Graduate Military Program at MCAS Cherry Point, NC while he was an enrollment counselor for University of Phoenix Savannah, GA Campus; after having served as an account executive for the Lowcountry Region’s José Marti Award winning LA Isla Magazine. Kent ran for South Carolina state senate during 2008 as well, before finishing his first graduate degree, making a formidable run against the current District 47 Senator Tom Davis.

Fletcher would go on to complete his second master’s degree in behavioral psychology from Kaplan University, while completing a fellowship for Obama for America and running another state senate campaign to replace the assassinated Clementa Pinckney of SC District 45. Kent is since medically retired, having been classified as 100-percent disabled, after having success in banking, further professional academia with Savannah State University College of Business Administration, and another year with LA Isla Magazine as their Small Business Development Consultant during a transition year for the company.

Kent joined T11, then Apex TRI-M Innovations Inc, when his banking acumen had been identified. Since then, Mr. Fletcher has been instrumental in helping lead the change in brand to T11, securing operations capital, helping steer digital media, and scripting strategy with president/CEO Ben Troupe.

Mr. Fletcher volunteers with The Dive Savannah Foundation, helping homeless, distressed, and disadvantaged veterans in the region secure resources and establish more stable quality of life. Kent is married to Amanda Fletcher (nee McClendon, and resides in Bluffton, SC with his wife and three children, Elizabeth, Caleb, and Hannah, along with their pets. Kent is a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans (DAV), member of Military Officers Association of America (MOAA), leading a church discipleship group while serving in church safety and emergency response, and pursuing a doctorate of strategic communication from Regent University.
